CrossFit Virilis November Member of the Month: Rachael Trommer

How long have you been doing CrossFit?I have been doing CrossFit for roughly 18 months now. CFV is my first box and has been one of the best decisions I've ever made for my health and fitness 🏋🏻‍♀️

What's your favorite workout?Any that don’t involve running, lol! In all seriousness though, Hero WODs probably mean the most to me when it comes to workouts. To be able to honor them by putting myself through pain and struggle is humbling. What's your favorite movement?I feel like I struggle in most movements but consistency and barbell classes has helped me out tremendously! I think the movement I enjoy and can perform well are wall balls.

Why do you do CrossFit?With a lot of pushback from myself, my husband encouraged me to start CrossFit! After completing my on ramp classes though and my first few WODs I loved how I was feeling and I knew that CF was more than a workout and an investment to my health.

What meal could you eat every day for the rest of your life?Filet of steak cooked medium with mashed potatoes! 🥩🥔

What has CFV helped you do, achieve, overcome, etc?CFV has helped me perform movements I never thought I could do, overcome fears, and push my body past limits I otherwise never would have

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?I would have dinner with my grandmother again. My grandmother was fun, witty, spunky, and I could always share a laugh with her or ask for her advice

Top three favorite movies.Shrek, The Proposal, Remember the TitansWhat makes you the happiest?God's Grace, my husband, and my family! And my puppies 🐶🥰 I am thankful for all of them and they mean the world to me.

Anything else you want to add?I love that CFV is a blended family of all kinds of people, from different careers, with different stories and walks of life! CFV and it’s members have encouraged me to fight through and approach things without the words “I can’t” at the forefront of my mind.
