100 Words of World Class Fitness

“Eat a diet of meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no added sugar. Keep intake to levels that support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean and jerk, and snatch. Similarly master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc., hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.”This is without question the greatest synopsis of fitness the world has ever known. Follow these guidelines and you will reach world class fitness for your age group. Coach Glassman revolutionized the fitness world with his methodology and the summation of it here should be in any gym or athletic facility the world over. It is concise and profound. Everything is covered. Diet. Movements. Regimen and implementation. If you knew nothing else of CrossFit, you could just follow the words you read here and be on your way to elite fitness. The 100 words plays no favorites. It’s all there. Weightlifting, gymnastics, and monostructural movements. This was the aim of the program. A program that was broad, general and inclusive. “We were looking for a pattern that had no pattern.” This was the stuff of real world fitness. Something a firefighter would need if he or she was called out to a burning building. Something a police officer would need if he had to pursue a suspect on foot. And, definitely something a soldier would need in the heat of battle. It's also something a grandma may use to pick up her grandchild. Something a bro may use to help a friend in need moving furniture with ease. It's something a teen can use to make them a better athlete in their sport of choice. Something we all need, no matter our size, shape, height, weight, or otherwise, to help us to get out of bed every day and move around with energy and intention. We all need to be capable at running, jumping, throwing and moving our body through space. The 100 words of fitness is the north star to our program. Practice it. If you're ready to learn how to put these words to practice, set up a time to talk with us by texted 210-361-3114.
